Calling all actors 18+! Come participate in a weekend of theater filled with merriment, camaraderie, and community.
Needham Community Theatre is hosting their first ever 24 Hour Musical! Within 24 hours, actors will learn an entire musical and put it on in front of a live audience! With auditions in mid-May and rehearsals June 7th and 8th, the 24 Hour Musical makes it easy for all to participate and join in the fun.

24 Hour Musical - FAQs
What is a 24 Hour Musical?
The 24 Hour Musical is a fun way for members of the community to get involved in theater in a low-stakes, low-commitment environment. Actors will audition without knowing the show. They will come together and learn the title of the show and their role and then rehearse for 24 hours before it goes up in front of an audience.
Do I have to be completely memorized?
Not at all! The expectation is that actors will have scripts on stage with them throughout the show. We will also have dance captains in the aisles to assist with dance numbers. The goal of this project is for actors to come together and enjoy the creation of theater and all the joy that comes with it.
When is the 24 Hour Musical?
The 24 Hour Musical is split into 2 12-hour days, Saturday June 7th and Sunday June 8th.
What if I’m not available for part of the day?
That is okay! We encourage everyone to audition, even if they have conflicts. We understand that there are events such as baseball games, family obligations, and other commitments that may not make you available for the entirety of the 24 Hour Musical. Simply note these conflicts on your audition form and we will do our best to accommodate.
When are auditions?
Auditions will be May 19th, 20th, and 21st. Audition sign-ups will go live on the NCT website at the beginning of April. Be sure to follow the NCT Instagram and Facebook where the link will be posted.
What are the audition requirements?
Auditioners will be asked to sing and dance at auditions. Please wear comfortable clothes to move in for the dance audition. Song selections will be provided prior to auditions.
What are the times for rehearsal?
Rehearsals will start bright and early at 9:00am on Saturday, June 7th and will go until 9:00pm that evening. We will pick right back up at 9:00am on Sunday, June 8th and rehearse until the performance begins at 7:00pm that evening.
