Needham Community Theatre

Needham Community Theatre

Needham Community Theatre was founded in 1956 by former members of the Linden Street Players, who were based at the Congregational Church in Needham. The new group's first production, Jane by S N Behrman, was performed at Needham High School on December 7 and 8, 1956.

NCT began performing two shows a year at Needham High until the spring of 1964, when we moved to the new Newman Junior High School. That year, we performed our first musical, The Pajama Game and were thrilled to welcome John Raitt, the star of the show on Broadway, to our performance.

We split our performances between the high school and Newman, now Newman Elementary School, until 1999 when Newman became our  primary performance space.

NCT has been performing shows in the community continuously for 67 years. Throughout our history, hundreds of residents of Needham and surrounding towns have been a part of our productions.  We look forward to many more years of high quality community theater productions, and we welcome your support!
